CII-IBT Engagement in the Area of HIV/ AIDS
Chief Mentor's Message:

It is a delight to see the spirit of altruism amongst employees who come and donate blood!

In partnering the government's efforts to promote and regulate the process of blood donations, CII continues to engage its member companies, to come forward and encourage voluntarily blood donation.

As part of its Safe Blood Campaign (2007-2008), CII will continue to address the shortage of blood supply, across nation by mobilising the private sector.

Apart from encouraging voluntary blood donation, awareness needs to be stepped up on rational use of blood. Rational use of blood means providing the right blood product, in the right quantity for the right patient. It can help in bridging the gap between demand and supply of the precious blood and blood products.

CII urges the healthcare industry and voluntary organisations to spread awareness amongst healthcare professionals and amongst people on the rational use of blood, so that unnecessary blood transfusions could be avoided and hence we save on Safe Blood!
